One network element a contingency case bound to. id.component_type names the table row indexes, and every element states it. id.local_id is the element’s own identity, and its len is 0 when the network states none for the row; read the len rather than the data pointer, which is unspecified at that length. in_service is the element’s own flag as the network states it before the case is applied.
